Local tips

Westland Insurance Group handles Keremeos road-test bookings from its office at 531 - 7th Ave., a short walk of about 40 m from the Crowsnest Highway (CN 3), which is posted at 50 km/h here. It's open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and road tests are by appointment. The Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department is about 310 m away and the South Similkameen Health Centre about 440 m, so listen for sirens and be ready to pull to the right and stop. Schools are about 760 m away and Similkameen Elementary Secondary School about 780 m, so watch for students on weekdays. Our 10.5 km practice route starts east on CN 3/7th Avenue, takes the exit toward Cawston/Nighthawk USA/Osoyoos, then follows Becks Road, Upper Bench Road and the Kaleden Highway (BC 3A) before Sparks Drive, Richter Street, 2nd Avenue and the Keremeos Bypass Road bring you back. Practice slowing smoothly as you leave the highway at the exit, and checking your mirrors before every turn.

Common questions

Keremeos road test FAQ

What are the hours at Keremeos?

ICBC lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Check icbc.com before you go, especially around holidays.

How do I book a road test?

Book online at icbc.com (Book a road test), or call 604-982-2250 in Metro Vancouver, 250-978-8300 in Victoria, or 1-800-950-1498 toll-free; in other areas you can also contact the nearest driver licensing office. You pay the road test fee when you arrive. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, or you'll be charged a $25 fee.

What do I need to bring?

Arrive 15 minutes early with the same ID you used for your learner's licence (one primary and one secondary piece), your learner's licence, payment for the road test fee, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle with a Canadian licence plate and its registration papers. GPS and navigation must be off, and recording devices aren't allowed during the test.

When can I take the road test, and is there a second test?

New drivers take the Class 7 road test to move from the learner (L) licence to the novice (N) licence; the earliest date you can take it is printed on your licence. Since October 19, 2026, drivers with a novice licence and a clean record no longer take a second road test: a Driving Record Assessment replaces it.
