About
A calmer way to prepare for test day
Canada Drive Test Routes brings together what learner drivers need to know about their road test centre: where it is, how to book, what the roads around it are like, and a practice route to drive before the big day.
What you'll find here
We currently cover 457 road test centres in 7 provinces, and every one of them has a practice route. Each centre page includes:
- the official address and phone number, opening hours where the province publishes them, and a link to book with the testing body
- the test classes offered there, using each province's own names (such as Class 5, Class 7, or G2 and G)
- nearby things to be ready for, such as railway crossings, school zones, busy traffic lights, roundabouts and fast roads
- local tips, parking and transit information, and answers to common questions
- a practice route with a map and turn-by-turn directions
Each province page also explains how licensing works there, and our road test day checklist walks you through the day itself.
Where the information comes from
Centre details come from each province's official sources: Alberta's registry agents, ICBC in British Columbia, Manitoba Public Insurance, Service New Brunswick, Access Nova Scotia, DriveTest in Ontario and SGI in Saskatchewan. Each centre page lists its sources and shows the date it was last checked.
Nearby roads, crossings, schools and parking come from OpenStreetMap map data, © OpenStreetMap contributors. Route maps use Mapbox and OpenStreetMap. Distances are measured in a straight line from the centre, so treat them as a guide.
About the practice routes
Our practice routes are sample routes we've put together to help you get comfortable with the roads around each centre. They are not official test routes, and your examiner may take you on different streets. We check that each route starts and ends at the centre, and we avoid U-turns where possible. Where a route has to start nearby or include a U-turn, the centre page says so.
On the road, always follow traffic signs, road conditions and your examiner's directions over anything on this site.
Independent
This site is not affiliated with DriveTest, ICBC, SGI, MPI, Service New Brunswick, Access Nova Scotia, any Alberta registry agent, or any government body. Always book your test through the official booking links, and check your appointment confirmation for the final word on times, places and requirements.
