Local tips
Chilliwack Driver Licensing on Chilliwack Central Road is a road-test-only location at 46052 Chilliwack Central Road. It's open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., starting later at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesdays, and road tests are by appointment. Railway tracks are close by: map data shows level crossings about 240 and 245 m from the office and more about 525 m away. Slow down, look both ways and never stop on the tracks. Kwiyeqel Secondary School is about 270 m away. ICBC's examiners say speeding through school and playground zones is a common reason people fail, so watch for school zone signs on weekdays. There are 47 sets of traffic lights within a kilometre, the nearest about 105 m away on Young Road, which has five lanes. At 18.3 km, our practice route is a longer one: it takes Chilliwack Central Road, Broadway and First Avenue to Yale Road, heads out on Reeves Road and Camp River Road, then comes back via Hope River Road and Young Road. On the multi-lane roads, practice choosing your lane early and shoulder-checking before you change.
Common questions
Chilliwack road test FAQ
What are the hours at Chilliwack?
ICBC lists: Mon–Tue 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Wed 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Thu–Fri 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Check icbc.com before you go, especially around holidays.
How do I book a road test?
Book online at icbc.com (Book a road test), or call 604-982-2250 in Metro Vancouver, 250-978-8300 in Victoria, or 1-800-950-1498 toll-free; in other areas you can also contact the nearest driver licensing office. You pay the road test fee when you arrive. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, or you'll be charged a $25 fee.
What do I need to bring?
Arrive 15 minutes early with the same ID you used for your learner's licence (one primary and one secondary piece), your learner's licence, payment for the road test fee, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle with a Canadian licence plate and its registration papers. GPS and navigation must be off, and recording devices aren't allowed during the test.
When can I take the road test, and is there a second test?
New drivers take the Class 7 road test to move from the learner (L) licence to the novice (N) licence; the earliest date you can take it is printed on your licence. Since October 19, 2026, drivers with a novice licence and a clean record no longer take a second road test: a Driving Record Assessment replaces it.
