Local tips
SGI holds Outlook's driver exams in the court room at the Town Office, 400 Saskatchewan Avenue. Hours vary and every service requires an appointment, so book ahead. Saskatchewan Avenue and McKenzie Street both carry Highway 15 through town with a 50 km/h limit, so you'll share the road with highway traffic as soon as you leave. Outlook High School and Outlook Elementary School are roughly 700 to 800 metres away, and map data doesn't show any traffic lights in town. Our 7.6 km practice route uses McKenzie Street, Prairie Avenue, Pangman Street and Progress Avenue, then comes back through Park Avenue, Ash Street, River Avenue and Conquest Avenue before returning on Saskatchewan Avenue. Practice judging gaps when turning onto the highway streets and making complete stops at every sign.
Common questions
Outlook road test FAQ
What are the hours at Outlook?
SGI lists: Office hours vary. Appointment required for all services. Check sgi.sk.ca/examoffice before you go.
How do I book a road test?
Book a Class 5 road test online with MySGI, through a motor licence issuer, or by calling 1-844-TLK-2SGI (1-844-855-2744). If you give your cellphone number, SGI texts you reminders 24 hours and one hour before, and you can check in by text when you arrive.
What do I need for the Class 5 road test?
You must have held your Class 7 learner's licence for at least nine months, bring photo ID, and supply a vehicle in good working order (the examiner inspects it first). Bring your Driver Education Certificate if your training isn't on your SGI file. Your supervising driver waits in the waiting room during the test.
What if I fail?
SGI says you must wait two weeks before taking another Class 5 road test, and you pay the test fee again. If you miss an appointment without cancelling, you pay for the rescheduled one.
Is a practice route available for Outlook?
Yes. This page has a 7.6 km Class 5 practice test route that starts and ends at the centre, with a map and turn-by-turn directions.
