Walkley Road itself is a signalized city arterial: in the first few hundred metres you will pass traffic lights at Baycrest Drive, Heatherington Road and Albion Road North, and Heron Road, a wider multi-lane road, is only about 400 m away. Further out, Bank Street to the west and the Airport Parkway ramps are good places to practice lane changes and merging, and there is a railway level crossing on Conroy Road at the Walkley Line to the east. Prince of Peace School is very close to the centre, so practice school-zone speeds too. If Walkley has no openings, the Canotek centre in the east end is another Ottawa option listed in this directory.
