Local tips
Tracadie's Service New Brunswick centre has moved. It's now listed at 1-733 Rivière-à-la-Truite Street, on Chemin Rivière à la Truite on the west side of town. Older listings still give 447 du Moulin Street, the former office, so check your booking confirmation and go to the new address. Exams run weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., by appointment. The new office is close to Route 11, which runs about 580 metres away at 100 km/h, with ramps only about 340 metres away, so expect faster traffic heading to and from the highway. Schools are close too: one is about 605 metres away and Polyvalente W.-Arthur-Losier about 770 metres away, so watch for school zones and buses on weekdays. There are roundabouts about 1.4 kilometres away; slow down, yield to traffic already in the circle, and signal your exit. Our 11.8 km practice route heads west on Chemin Rivière à la Truite, joins Route 11 to exit 192, and returns on Chemin Pointe des Ferguson (Route 370) and Rue Robinson. Practice merging at highway speed and slowing smoothly as you leave the highway.
Common questions
Tracadie road test FAQ
What are the hours at Tracadie?
Service New Brunswick lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Offices close on statutory holidays, so check snb.ca before you go.
How do I book a road test?
Book online through Service New Brunswick's Driver Examination Online Booking Service (linked from gnb.ca's Driver licence testing page), or call TeleServices at 1-888-762-8600 (Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). The road test fee is $25 plus HST for each attempt, and you can take the test in English or French.
What do I need to bring?
A licensed driver with at least three years of experience and a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) licence to come with you, your valid learner's permit, a signed and valid vehicle registration, proof of valid insurance for the vehicle, your driving school certificate if you have one, and proof of payment for the test. Bring paper copies; only the proof of insurance can be digital. If anything is missing, you'll be turned away.
How long do I need my learner's licence first, and what if I fail?
New drivers take this road test to move from Class 7 Level 1 (learner) to Level 2. You must have held Level 1 for at least one year, or eight months if you completed a recognized driver education course (green certificate required). The wait is waived if you've been fully licensed before. If you don't pass, you book and pay for another attempt.
