Local tips
The Neguac driver examination office is at 946 Rue Principale, open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with road tests by appointment. Rue Principale is Route 11, posted at 70 km/h through this stretch, so turning on and off it takes patience. Signal early, slow down gradually, and wait for a safe gap in both directions. The fire station is about 460 metres away, so be ready to pull over for emergency vehicles. Centre scolaire La Fontaine is about 1.3 kilometres away. There are no traffic lights or roundabouts nearby. Our 58.4 km practice route is mostly rural. It takes Ross Road and Grattan Road to Route 460, follows Route 445 and Chemin Allain back to Rue Principale, then loops on Rue Fairisle (Route 455) and Route 445 again, finishing through Rue Hector and Rue Egbert. Practice steady highway speeds, slowing for curves, and watching for wildlife and farm vehicles.
Common questions
Neguac road test FAQ
What are the hours at Neguac?
Service New Brunswick lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Offices close on statutory holidays, so check snb.ca before you go.
How do I book a road test?
Book online through Service New Brunswick's Driver Examination Online Booking Service (linked from gnb.ca's Driver licence testing page), or call TeleServices at 1-888-762-8600 (Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). The road test fee is $25 plus HST for each attempt, and you can take the test in English or French.
What do I need to bring?
A licensed driver with at least three years of experience and a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) licence to come with you, your valid learner's permit, a signed and valid vehicle registration, proof of valid insurance for the vehicle, your driving school certificate if you have one, and proof of payment for the test. Bring paper copies; only the proof of insurance can be digital. If anything is missing, you'll be turned away.
How long do I need my learner's licence first, and what if I fail?
New drivers take this road test to move from Class 7 Level 1 (learner) to Level 2. You must have held Level 1 for at least one year, or eight months if you completed a recognized driver education course (green certificate required). The wait is waived if you've been fully licensed before. If you don't pass, you book and pay for another attempt.
