Local tips

Orillia's centre sits in Unit 3 at 404 Laclie Street, on the stretch of Laclie just south of Fittons Road East in the city's north end. Laclie is a two-lane secondary road with homes, small businesses and a grocery store along it, so expect driveways, turning traffic and parked cars rather than fast multi-lane driving. The nearest signals are at Fittons Road East, roughly 150 m north, and at North Street East to the south, and there are several schools within a few blocks, including Couchiching Heights Public School on Laclie itself. Plan for school-zone speeds on weekday mornings and afternoons. Highway 11 runs about a kilometre to the west, with ramps reached from West Street North and Burnside Line, and the downtown grid of Mississaga, Coldwater, Front and Peter streets is under two kilometres south. The centre is open weekdays only, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so a Saturday test is not an option here. If you cannot get a slot, Barrie is the next full centre to the south-west. Arrive a little early to find the unit.
