It runs along Route 1 toward Quispamsis, takes the Gondola Point Arterial (Route 119), and comes back to Hampton on Route 100. In town it uses Hall Road, Main Street, Route 860, Robertson Road, Elizabeth Avenue, Saint Paul's Street and Kennebecasis River Road. It finishes through Riverdale Drive, Executive Drive and Donlea Drive. Practice building up speed on the on-ramps, checking your blind spot before you merge, and keeping a safe following distance at 110 km/h. Hampton High School is about 1.1 kilometres away.
Common questions
Hampton road test FAQ
What are the hours at Hampton?
Service New Brunswick lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Offices close on statutory holidays, so check snb.ca before you go.
How do I book a road test?
Book online through Service New Brunswick's Driver Examination Online Booking Service (linked from gnb.ca's Driver licence testing page), or call TeleServices at 1-888-762-8600 (Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). The road test fee is $25 plus HST for each attempt, and you can take the test in English or French.
What do I need to bring?
A licensed driver with at least three years of experience and a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) licence to come with you, your valid learner's permit, a signed and valid vehicle registration, proof of valid insurance for the vehicle, your driving school certificate if you have one, and proof of payment for the test. Bring paper copies; only the proof of insurance can be digital. If anything is missing, you'll be turned away.
How long do I need my learner's licence first, and what if I fail?
New drivers take this road test to move from Class 7 Level 1 (learner) to Level 2. You must have held Level 1 for at least one year, or eight months if you completed a recognized driver education course (green certificate required). The wait is waived if you've been fully licensed before. If you don't pass, you book and pay for another attempt.
