The office is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and road tests are by appointment. The Cariboo Highway (BC 97) runs about 35 m from the office and is posted at 50 km/h here, so expect highway traffic as soon as you set off; check your mirrors and blind spot before every turn. There are four sets of traffic lights within a kilometre, the nearest about 75 m away, so be ready to stop smoothly when a light turns yellow. The district hospital is about 455 m away and the fire hall about 485 m, so listen for sirens and be ready to pull over to the right. Our 8.1 km practice route starts on Cariboo Trail Road, takes Horse Lake Road and 8th Street, joins the Cariboo Highway, then heads out along Exeter Station Road before finishing on Birch Avenue South. Use the highway stretches to practice holding a steady speed with a safe following gap.
Common questions
100 Mile House road test FAQ
What are the hours at 100 Mile House?
ICBC lists: Mon–Sat 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Check icbc.com before you go, especially around holidays.
How do I book a road test?
Book online at icbc.com (Book a road test), or call 604-982-2250 in Metro Vancouver, 250-978-8300 in Victoria, or 1-800-950-1498 toll-free; in other areas you can also contact the nearest driver licensing office. You pay the road test fee when you arrive. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, or you'll be charged a $25 fee.
What do I need to bring?
Arrive 15 minutes early with the same ID you used for your learner's licence (one primary and one secondary piece), your learner's licence, payment for the road test fee, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle with a Canadian licence plate and its registration papers. GPS and navigation must be off, and recording devices aren't allowed during the test.
When can I take the road test, and is there a second test?
New drivers take the Class 7 road test to move from the learner (L) licence to the novice (N) licence; the earliest date you can take it is printed on your licence. Since October 19, 2026, drivers with a novice licence and a clean record no longer take a second road test: a Driving Record Assessment replaces it.
